The operating steps of the optical coating machine involve multiple links. The following are the detailed operating steps:

1. Preliminary preparation

Check the machine status:

Check whether the optical coating machine is in normal working condition, including whether the power supply, gas source, cooling system, etc. are normal.

Remove the debris inside and around the machine, especially the evaporation material residue, to ensure a clean working environment.

Material preparation:

Select high-quality optical lenses or other materials that need to be coated.

Prepare evaporation materials, such as metal targets, to ensure that the purity and quality of the materials meet the requirements.

Equipment preparation:

Prepare necessary coating equipment such as vacuum film thickness gauges, vacuum pumps, and ion sources.

Check whether the equipment is intact to ensure that it can work normally.

Environmental preparation:

Ensure that the coating chamber is tightly closed and there is no air leakage.

Prepare cleaning tools such as cleaning fluid and deionized water, as well as grinding, decontamination and other tools.

2. Pre-treatment of coating

Polishing:

Finely polish the optical lens to remove tiny depressions and impurities on the surface.

Cleaning:

Use special cleaning fluid and ultrasonic cleaning equipment to clean the optical lens to ensure the surface is clean.

After cleaning, rinse with deionized water to remove residual cleaning fluid.

Vacuum heating:

Put the cleaned lens into the vacuum chamber and heat the lens by electric heating.

The gas adsorbed on the surface is evaporated and pumped away to ensure the cleanliness of the coating environment.

3. Coating operation

Set process parameters:

According to the coating requirements, set appropriate process parameters such as evaporation temperature, evaporation rate, vacuum degree, etc.

Evaporation process:

Add evaporation material to the evaporation source, such as tungsten filament.

Turn on the evaporation source, perform the evaporation process, and release active atoms.

Film deposition:

Use energy sources such as ion sources or electron beams in the vacuum chamber to deposit the evaporated atoms or molecules on the surface of the lens.

During the deposition process, a vacuum film thickness gauge is used to monitor the film thickness in real time to ensure that the predetermined requirements are met.

Auxiliary heating:

During the deposition process, it may be necessary to use auxiliary heating technology to heat the substrate surface to the self-condensation temperature of the film layer, which is conducive to the condensation and solidification of the film layer.

4. Post-coating treatment

Cooling:

When the coating process is completed, turn off the energy sources such as the evaporation source and the ion source.

Allow the vacuum chamber to cool naturally to room temperature, or use forced cooling to accelerate the cooling process.

Take out the workpiece:

After the air pressure in the vacuum chamber returns to normal pressure, open the vacuum chamber door and take out the coated lens.

Cleaning and inspection:

Clean the coated lens to remove impurities that may remain on the surface.

Check the coating quality, including whether the film thickness, uniformity, optical performance, etc. meet the requirements.

5. Maintenance and care

Clean the reaction chamber:

Regularly clean the interior of the reaction chamber and components such as the heating plate to remove residual evaporation materials and impurities.

Replacement of parts:

According to the use of the equipment, regularly replace the parts with severe wear, such as evaporation source, ion source, etc.

Maintenance:

Perform comprehensive maintenance on the equipment, including checking whether the power supply, gas source, cooling system, etc. are working properly.

Calibrate and debug the equipment regularly to ensure the coating accuracy and stability.

The above are the basic operating steps of the optical coating machine. Optical coating machines of different models and specifications may have different specific operations. Therefore, in the actual operation process, the equipment manual should be strictly followed and the relevant safety regulations and operating procedures should be observed.
