The application scope of PVD technology in vacuum coating machines includes:
1) Metal materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and titanium alloys;
2) The surface hardness of the metal materials must be at least HV170 or higher.

The advantages of vacuum PVD coating technology are:
Compared to traditional magnetron sputtering single-color PVD technology, the two-color PVD process is more complex, has a more intricate process, and is more difficult to produce, but it yields excellent appearance results, with both colors having a surface hardness of HV600 or higher. To achieve a two-color effect with traditional magnetron sputtering single-color PVD technology, the process involves laser-etching or grinding away the areas where the other color is desired on top of the overall single-color PVD layer. The newly processed areas can only display the natural color of the metal, with a surface hardness of around HV200 (while the surface hardness after PVD is HV600 or higher).

The disadvantages of vacuum PVD coating technology are:

1) The process is more complex and intricate than traditional monochrome PVD, making production more difficult;

2) The production yield is low, approximately 65-70% (compared to 85-90% for traditional monochrome PVD);

3) The price is 50-60% higher than traditional monochrome PVD;

4) Due to the influence of the process and flow, dual-color PVD production is more limited and more affected by product structure, while traditional monochrome PVD is almost unrestricted. Modern coating equipment (using uniform heating technology, temperature measurement technology, unbalanced magnetron sputtering technology, auxiliary anode technology, medium-frequency power supply, and pulse technology) mainly consists of a vacuum chamber, vacuum acquisition section, vacuum measurement section, power supply section, process gas input system, mechanical transmission section, heating and temperature measurement components, ion evaporation or sputtering source, and water cooling system.
